Which Air Conditioner Should You Choose?
It’s springtime, which means in only a month or two, temperatures are going to soar. And according to the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center, they’re going to be some of the hottest temperatures we’ve experienced in our area to date!
If you’ve got a home with a faulty air conditioner, or perhaps you just recently bought a home with no air conditioning, then you’ve probably been frantically searching around for the right system to choose from. Don’t panic.
When it comes to air conditioning in Sarasota, FL, there’s no better team at this than ours!
Let’s Choose a System Together!
Come prospective HVAC owners one and all, it’s time to go through the selection of different available air conditioners that might be perfectly situated for your home! We want to talk about each type of air conditioner individually so that you’ve got all the information you need to select the right system. It doesn’t matter if you’re new to HVAC technology, or you’re a veteran that’s just looking for a quick refresher.
Central Air Conditioners
Central air conditioners are the most common type of air conditioning system we install, and that’s for a few very good reasons.
- They’re inexpensive.
- They’re a simple, whole-house solution.
- They’re powerful, long-lasting, and efficient.
Just based on this information alone, we’d assume that most of the homes we provide AC installation for would be well suited for a central air conditioner. Depending on the size and layout of your home, this system could keep you comfortable for the entire summer.
Heat Pumps
Are you in the market for a new heating unit as well as a new cooling system? Then you’re in luck! A heat pump works similarly to a central AC system except with one major difference—it can run in reverse and heat your home instead! This basically means a heat pump can serve as both a heating and cooling system.
Not only are heat pumps versatile in the type of comfort they provide, but they’re also hyper-efficient and powerful enough to keep you comfortable for the entire year. Yep, they’re just as powerful and efficient as central AC systems, and sometimes even more so. They just tend to cost more initially because of their additional heating capabilities.
Ductless Mini Splits
If you don’t have ductwork in your home, then you might be in a tricky spot. Don’t worry, there’s a solution to your problem. Ductless mini splits are basically heat pumps that distribute the heated or cooled air through up to four wall-mounted air handlers. What this means is that your temperature control doesn’t have to rely on air ducts, and instead can come from individual air handlers that are strategically situated in your home to maximize your comfort.
Don’t let us forget to mention that ductless mini splits are incredibly efficient. They’re also heat pumps, which means they’re heaters as well as cooling systems when you need them in the winter.
